The safety and protection of your personal data is important for HUMAN Gesellschaft für Biochemica und Diagnostica (hereafter: "HUMAN"). HUMAN intends to give you as much control over your personal data as possible.
Personal data is handled in accordance with the new European Data Protection Ordinance (DSGVO) as of 25.5.2018. In the following we inform you which data is collected during your visit to our website and how it is used.
1. Personal Data
Personal data, i.e. data from which conclusions can be drawn about your person, such as your name and your email address, etc. are only collected if you actively make such information available to us of your own accord, for example by communicating with us via email, giving feedback or filling out and sending us forms.
2. Collection and Use of Data
The extent and type of collection and use of your data will vary depending on whether you visit our website for the sole purpose of obtaining information or whether you make use of the services we offer.
HUMAN asks you to provide personal data if you register or login to a password protected area of the website, or if you use the contact form to send requests and/or to register to our newsletter.
You will be informed when we collect personal data from you on our website and which information is necessary in order to offer our services and which information you can voluntarily provide. In several areas of the HUMAN website, you are requested to enter personal details, with which we can make the website more useful for you and help us to remain in contact with you.
3. Data Security
Technical and organizational security measures are used to protect any personal data which has been collected or provided, in particular against accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, destruction or attack by unauthorized persons. Our security measures are continuously improved in line with technological developments.
Our website is encrypted using SSL technology to prevent access by unauthorized third parties.
Please keep in mind that data transmission over the Internet can be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection against access by third parties is not possible.
4. Obtaining Information
4.1. Log Data
If you use the website for informational purposes, no personal data will be requested nor recorded. However, the web server automatically records each visit to our website and saves them as “server-log files.” The following data will be recorded:
- visited website
- operating system used
- the page from where the file was downloaded;
- the file name
- browser used
- date and time of access
- source/reference from which you came to the website
- content viewed
- quantity of data sent in bytes
- the client’s IP address
In regards to the geographic location of the user, an estimate based on the IP number will be made, which will subsequently be evaluated for statistics.
Such kind of data will only be used in a depersonalized way for helping us to improve the website or for statistical purposes. No person-related analysis will be conducted.
The website operator reserves the right to analyze the server log files at a later date if there are concrete indications of illegal use.
4.2. Social Media
Upon questions and inquiries on facebook and in facebook messages, we may ask for your data including your email address and the country where you live. We often require this information so that we can forward your inquiry to the responsible HUMAN representative for your country to best answer your questions and provide you with more information.
We currently do not use a Social Media Plug-in function.
5. Newsletter Registration
In order to register for our email newsletter service, we require your email address and language.
Further information (salutation, first and last name, country and other information) is voluntary and will be used to personalize the content of the newsletter or used to conduct market research. For this purpose, it is technically necessary that the data collected about you or data provided by you is combined and analyzed in a user profile. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future.
We use the “double opt-in” procedure for sending newsletters, which means that we will not send you our newsletter until you have confirmed your registration by clicking a link in a confirmation email sent to you for this purpose. We would like to make sure that only you yourself can register to receive the newsletter as the owner of the specified email address. Your confirmation must be done promptly upon receipt of the confirmation email; otherwise your newsletter subscription will not be registered.
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the end of the newsletter.
When you sign-up for our newsletter we may contact you in order to:
- provide you with updated information about our products and services;
- provide you with information about other products and services which you may have an interest in; or
- obtain sponsorships, provide training and other educational activities, seek consultancy services or to contact you for surveys.
6. Links to Other Websites
Our online contents include links to other websites. Although we select links very carefully, we do not have any influence on the contents of linked pages or on compliance with privacy policies of the operators of other websites and are not responsible for illegal, erroneous or incomplete contents. As a provider, HUMAN is responsible for its own contents in accordance with general regulations.
7. Data Transfer
All personal data transmitted to us will be treated confidentially and will not be disclosed to third parties for any commercial or non-commercial purposes. Third parties in this sense are not service providers, distributors and affiliated companies commissioned with data processing.
8. Rights of the User
8.1. Information, Correction and Deletion
The user is entitled to obtain free information on any stored personal data relating to him/her upon request. In addition, the user has the right to correction, blockage and deletion of such personal data as provided for by law.
8.2. Statutory Periods for Data Retention
Data is deleted upon expiry of the legal, statutory or contractually agreed retention periods. Data that is no longer needed is deleted.
